Burning issues: Philip de Goey gets € 2.5 million for research into metal fuels

Abstract:

Using an Advanced Grant of 2.5 million euros from the European Research Council (ERC), Professor of Combustion Technology Philip de Goey is now going to research the combustion of metal particles to use metal powders as a fuel. Together with his PhD students he will investigate the combustion of metal from a single particle up to multiple particles, and from 1D up to 3D.
